Gerry, I did check out the Canonical Store and found the merchandise there was nice, and looked to be good quality. When I started thinking about this idea, my goals were to:

A.Increase the market awareness of Ubuntu in the USA
B.Offer quality merchandise that is embroidered (not silkscreen)
C.Expand the number of items offered
D.Ease the cost of shipping to the USA

If you visited the Land's End link I supplied, you might have noticed that the list of items available would be greatly expanded. ie:Attaches, throws, sweaters, outerwear, etc. Also expanded would be the available colors, styles, and more clothing items especially tailored for the women of Ubuntu.

Your idea of a Canonical Store for the USA is an exciting idea to me. I hope you won't mind if I get in touch with you via email to discuss this further.

have you guys checked out shop.canonical.com? i would be interested in what you think. It ships to the US and we are considering a US-based store in time.

that does not mean that there is not room for community efforts and we would like to support your efforts in this if we can...

Donnie, CafePress is fine, and Land's End isn't a sure thing if we can find something better. What I do like about Land's End is that they have a lot of other things besides shirts, ie: outerwear, laptop cases, etc. Land's End items are also embroidered logos not silkscreen logos. I think that's a little nicer and last better too.:)
