February 2009

The Ubuntu Arizona Team has just gone live with a new team website. We invite everyone to visit our site and let us know your opinion of our creation. We have included a “Poll” that is prominently displayed in the left side bar of the site so you can voice your opinion. You can also leave a comment on the Poll detailing what you like or dislike about our site.

New Ubuntu Arizona Team Website

Our site was constructed using the latest version of Drupal. We were lucky enough to get two servers, rack space, and Internet connection donated! How cool is that? We are going to use the best server for running our website, and offering hosting to the LUG groups in Arizona. The second server we are planning to use for testing and teaching server administration to members of our team. We actually set up our website on the test server to work out any bugs and refine the site before transferring all the Drupal files to the main server. We would appreciate it you would take a few minutes to visit our new team site and leave a comment. Thanks!!

There were several outstanding candidates for Ubuntu Membership at the last Americas Board meeting. I happen to be lucky enough to work with two of these great individuals. Dave Bush and Kenny McHenry. Both are enthusiastic members of the Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter Team who put in lots of hours helping to get the edition out on a weekly basis. Kenny has also been working for a long time to help the Arizona LoCo be the best it can be.

Congratulations to both of you, and thanks for all the work you do to promote Ubuntu!
